Our staff made a decision, about 3 weeks ago, that we wanted to create a memorable playlist for you this Christmas Season, with a combination of songs that celebrate the season, as well as songs that speak to Christ’s birth. We also decided it would be fun to have someone in our congregation curate the music for us. The person we chose was Linda Rosicka. What we could not know was that Pastor Janine and Pastor Missy’s visit to speak with Linda about her favorite Christmas songs would happen the day before she made the journey from Earth to Heaven. As Pastor Missy asked her about what Christmas songs she enjoyed, Linda’s response was, “Missy I love all of them…I just say Alexa (Amazon), play Christmas music!”
For the next few minutes, Missy took note of every song that came out of the speaker in Linda’s room. We have decided to share a Spotify playlist with you this Christmas that is full of songs that filled Linda’s room, as well as other classics for you to enjoy.
In Linda’s video, prior to her baptism, she mentioned that in times of weakness she has felt the overwhelming peace of God and His voice would often speak to her, “I am here.” Isaiah the prophet refers to the coming Christ as “Emmanuel”, which means “God with us”. God’s presence was her comfort. This Christmas season, we can experience the very same thing. Our prayer is that all of you would experience Emmanuel, no matter what you face ahead.
